In China, the peanut prices remain at current (low) level, both supply and demand is at low level. Most of the peanut dealers who have stock in their cold storage are believing that the price for the new crop will be much higher and thus they prefer to wait until then. On the other hand, big peanut consumers like the oil crushing factories still have overfull stock, and won’t enter the market until the new crop comes. Favourable weather condition still dominates most part of the peanut belt, with in Northeast being a bit dry (but acceptable). The 2018 crop is growing nicely and the setting rates are quite high in general. By the looks right now, the new crop should be good. In southern part of China, there are some area where the new crop is already available and being used for the local market. However, this won’t affect the market as the quantity is small.
